Dear Members
Welcome to the first newsletter of the Wallop And District Growmore Club .
We are hoping the newsletter will become a regular feature of the club .Colin Young has kindly agreed to edit the newsletter and it is hoped that it will become a useful tool to share information with all club members .Any ideas for the newsletter will be most appreciated .
Over the past 12 months the committee have been trying hard to rejuvenate the club to what it was a few years ago and to this end we have held a successful crops/ livestock competition,excellent ploughing match and the quiz team had some success in the Inter Growmore Club Quiz Competition.
There was some very enjoyable evenings with some very interesting questions and answers!!!
CLUB MEMBERSHIP
Currently stands at 40,in recent months we have welcomed 6 new members.
New members will be needed to continue the success of this club in future years .
Please encourage friends or collouges to join.
COMPETITIONS SECETARY
We are looking for a competitions secretary.
This post is needed for this year, a lot of the work has already been done but for a successful crop/livestock competion to go ahead we need some one to coordinate this.
Please contact Matt Read if interested.
ANNUAL DINNER/DANCE
The annual dinner was to be held this month but for various reasons it sadly has to be canceled .
We are working to replace this event with a similar event in the near future.
PLOUGHING MATCH 2006
The 2006 match was held last November it was a great success with excellent weather and good ground to plough.
Nearly 50 plouhgmen/women took part and was a well organized and attended match.
Thank you to Steve Shadwell and his team for organising the match.
Well done to all the prize winners and we look forward to the 2007 match.
